DEVAE for open source maintainers

DEVAE helps open source maintainers find contributors, run live review rooms with screen and terminal sharing, and build a community around a repo. Free in open beta.

Maintaining an open source project is mostly people work disguised as code work. You triage issues nobody reproduces, review PRs from people you have never spoken to, and try to turn drive-by contributors into regulars. DEVAE gives that people work a home: a feed where you post what the project needs, live rooms where you review a PR with the author on a call instead of a 40-comment thread, and a profile that shows the project you maintain to developers looking for something to contribute to.

It is not a replacement for GitHub. Your code, issues and CI stay where they are. DEVAE is the layer where you talk to the humans around the repo: onboarding a first-time contributor, pairing on a tricky bug at 11pm with someone in another time zone, or asking your stack's community whether an API change is a good idea before you ship it.

Open a room from your terminal

Install the CLI once, then pairing is a single command from the project directory. Screen and terminal are shared with whoever you invite.

npm install -g @devae/cli
devae login
devae room join refactor-payments

How to get started

Create a free account and add your stack (languages, frameworks, tools) to your profile.

Post what the project needs right now: a reviewer, a Windows tester, a docs pass.

Install the CLI and open a live room from the repo when someone wants to pair.

Add the "Find me on DEVAE" badge to your README so contributors know where to reach you.

DEVAE is in open beta and free for individuals. No credit card, no waitlist.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. DEVAE is free for individuals during the open beta, and that includes maintainers using it for their projects.

Rooms are invite-only by default and participants sign in so you know who is on the call. Creating an account takes about 30 seconds and is free.

No, but it is most useful there: devae room join from inside the project shares your terminal with that working directory already open.
