No. DEVAE runs fully in the browser. The desktop app adds native screen sharing, terminal sharing and one-click room joins, and the CLI lets you do the same from your terminal.
Yes. Every download is free for individuals, forever. DEVAE is in open beta.
During the beta the installer is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn you. Click "More info" then "Run anyway". Signed builds are on the roadmap.
