Ruby on Rails on DEVAE
The Rails hub is small and experienced: mostly people who have shipped products with Rails for years, plus founders choosing it for a new company because one developer can move fast. Threads cover Hotwire and Turbo versus a JavaScript front end, background jobs, upgrading old apps, and the eternal question of how to keep a large monolith maintainable. Rooms are used for pairing sessions in the classic Rails tradition — share the terminal, run the tests, refactor together.

Porto has a strong engineering faculty and a growing cluster of development centres opened by foreign companies seeking Portuguese talent at lower cost than Lisbon. The scene is more industrial and services-oriented and less startup-driven than the capital.
