DEVAE for students and self-taught developers
DEVAE is a free social platform for computer science students and self-taught developers: build in public, pair with classmates in live rooms, and find hackathon teammates.
Most of the learning happens after the lecture, when you are staring at a stack trace with nobody to ask. DEVAE is built for exactly that moment. Post the bug, open a live room with a classmate or someone in the community who knows the framework, share your screen and terminal, and fix it together instead of losing the evening to it.
It is also where you build the thing employers actually look at: a public record of what you shipped. Every project post, snippet and room you host lands on your profile. By the time you are applying for internships you have more than a resume, you have a feed of work with people who watched you do it.
What students use DEVAE for
Build in public from day one
Post your first API, your first deployed site, your first failed deploy. The feed is tuned to your stack, so people learning the same tools see it and respond.
Learn more →Pair on homework in a live room
Voice, screen share and terminal share in one room. Explain the bug once, fix it together, and both of you learn something.
Learn more →Find a hackathon team
Events and weekend hackathons are listed in one stream. Post "need a frontend person for the 48-hour build" and match with someone who wants in.
Learn more →Snippets you can actually share
Save the code you keep rewriting as snippets, invite a study partner to edit, and fork the versions that work.
Learn more →A profile that grows with you
Your profile lists shipped projects, hosted rooms and your stack. It is the portfolio that writes itself.
Learn more →Learn the terminal by using it
The DEVAE CLI opens and joins rooms from the command line. Small habit, big difference by the time you are interviewing.
Learn more →Open a room from your terminal
Install the CLI once, then pairing is a single command from the project directory. Screen and terminal are shared with whoever you invite.
