Developers in Washington, DC
DEVAE's Washington, DC community is a free hub for developers in Washington, DC to meet, show what they're building, open live rooms to pair or debug, and find teammates nearby. The DC area has a huge developer population that rarely shows up in startup coverage: government and civic tech, defence and consulting, nonprofits, and a growing commercial layer in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Many engineers here work in environments where they cannot talk about their work, which makes a community for side projects and open source especially valuable. This hub lists members from the District, Arlington, Alexandria, Reston, Bethesda and beyond with their stack and current project, and rooms let you pair or get a review without the Beltway. Civic-tech and open-data projects are a recurring theme, as are people preparing to move into commercial software. Post with the DC tag to reach locals first and add the collaboration flag when you need a teammate. Add your location to your profile and you are listed automatically.
Time zone: America/New_York. Members appear here when their profile location matches Washington, DC.
