PHP & Laravel on DEVAE
PHP developers on DEVAE are largely building products and client sites with Laravel, with Symfony and plain PHP appearing in threads about older codebases. Conversation centres on Livewire and Inertia versus a separate front end, queues and jobs, deployment, testing and the practicalities of freelance work. This hub has a strong presence from Pakistan and India, where Laravel is a common choice for agencies, so questions posted in that evening time zone get quick answers.

Alexandria is Egypt's second city and a significant source of engineering graduates, with a smaller local software market than Cairo. Many developers commute, relocate, or stay put and work remotely for Cairo companies and foreign clients from a cheaper coastal base.
