Java on DEVAE

The Java hub leans toward people working on services that have to stay up: Spring Boot APIs, event-driven systems, banking and enterprise integrations, and the JVM performance work that comes with them. It is also where students learning Java for coursework or interviews find people a few years ahead of them. Threads cover architecture and tooling as much as syntax — module layouts, testing, observability, migrating between Java versions — and rooms are used for walking through a heap dump or a slow query with the terminal shared.

Developers in Vancouver

Vancouver's developer community is shaped by games and visual effects, a strong e-commerce and SaaS layer, and satellite offices of large American companies — plus a lot of people who chose the city for the mountains and work remotely for teams elsewhere. That last group often has no local network at all. This hub lists DEVAE members from Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey and Richmond with their stack and current project, and rooms let you pair or get feedback with someone across the city in real time.

Post what you're building with the Java tag and the collaboration flag — it reaches Vancouver members first and shows up on the find-teammates page. You can also open a live room with screen and terminal sharing and invite people directly.

No. The location is just a filter. Members work with people across time zones every day; Vancouver simply makes it easier to find someone who shares your hours or wants to meet in person.
