DEVAE is open. Anyone can sign up, post, open a live room and install the CLI without a waitlist or a card. This post is the honest state of the product so you know what to expect before you invite your team.
What works today
- The feed: post what you shipped, drop code with syntax highlighting, tag it, and follow people whose stack matches yours.
- Live rooms: voice, screen share and terminal share in the browser or the desktop app. Rooms are invite-only by default.
- Profiles: your posts, rooms and projects in one public URL you can put in a README.
- Snippets with collaborators, direct messages, notifications and 1:1 calls.
- Apps for macOS, Windows and Linux, an Android app, and a CLI that logs you in and joins rooms from the terminal.
What is rough
- A live room is owned by the host's tab. If the host closes the tab, the room ends. We are moving room state to the server.
- Search is basic. It matches usernames and post text, not code.
- The mobile app follows rooms but does not host them yet.
What is next
Persistent rooms with recordings, tag hubs that are worth bookmarking, and the co-founder matching flow we have been testing in private. Each of these ships as a post on the feed first, then here.
If something breaks, the feedback page goes straight to the people building this. Thank you for building with us this early.
